do to turn this body of water into a nice fishing lake.
Fishing rod
After a couple of visits to the site, we began to design a plan. As their consultant, my job was to guide them through a decision process to turn this beautiful shallow and overgrown lake into a bass fishery.

The first job was to drain the lake and do some renovations. With a limited budget for land work, the decision was made to take about a third of the lake and rearrange the land to create the best habitat for largemouth bass and bluefish.

With the water out and the incessant rains followed by pumping, it took months to recover that part of the lake. A feeding program was included.

When the land work was completed, and the revived lake was pumped with fresh, clean water from the well, it was stocked with an adequate number of bluegill, redear sunfish and fathead minnows, followed shortly by fingerling of advanced bass, some of which were fed trained. .

The fish grew like crazy.

For three years, with a consistent feeding program and the water kept fertile by the contribution of nature in addition to the feeding program, the fishery prospered.

Pictures of happy people catching happy fish often came in. When my phone rang it was often a photo of someone with a nice bass or a big blue fish. Several of those pings come from people who enjoy this lake.

The lake manager kept me abreast of the conditions. After winning
